Overview

Radio Sputnik Radio Sputnik is an experimental synthesizer with a unique sound character that sits somewhere between deep sub-bass frequencies and mysterious radio transmissions. It combines a hybrid analog and digital sound engine, creating textures that range from warm and organic to unpredictable and otherworldly. The instrument features three audio outputs located on the top panel, allowing extensive patching possibilities. These outputs can be routed through the patch matrix, opening up countless opportunities for experimentation and sonic exploration. On the left side of the panel you'll find a set of clock dividers. Their speed is controlled by the main clock, and you can switch between two different clock ranges or synchronize the unit using an external clock source. Control voltage inputs are available for every potentiometer, enabling dynamic modulation throughout the entire synthesizer. The Wave, Pulse, and Comp sections are all interconnected, making Radio Sputnik especially suitable for discovering unexpected sounds and happy accidents. A small switch labeled "Morse" lowers the pitch by approximately one octave, adding extra depth and variation. The inspiration for Radio Sputnik comes from the mysterious Russian radio signal known as UVB-76, often referred to as "The Buzzer." Originally associated with the Cold War era, the station continues to broadcast strange pulses and tones today, and its true purpose remains unknown. The main audio output is located on the top panel. Radio Sputnik is fully compatible with Eurorack systems as well as a wide range of other synthesizers and electronic music equipment. What makes Radio Sputnik particularly special is the inclusion of three genuine vactrols. These components are increasingly difficult to source and contribute significantly to the instrument's distinctive response and character. Each unit is produced in small batches and carefully handmade in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The construction is solid, reliable, and built to last. Included with the synthesizer: * Power supply * Special USB cable generating 9V center-positive power * Three high-quality patch cables Radio Sputnik is capable of producing everything from subtle drones and rhythmic pulses to chaotic noise experiments and unexpected sonic landscapes. Watch the demonstration videos to hear what it can do.
